Semaphore launches a GitHub-like platform for software testing and delivery

Semaphore, a cloud platform for testing and releasing software from last week has free public accounts for testing open source and a freemium model for private projects, whereby they will create an open platform for software testing and delivery, similar to what GitHub does for source code.

This team is bootstrapped from Serbia since 2011 and are punching above their weight with global customers such as 500px, General Assembly and Dribbble.

11 Serbian startups in Bulgarian Accelerator Eleven, raised 760.000€ so far

Bulgarian accelerator Eleven is, many would agree, great supporter for regional early strage startups. In Serbia, which for years lacks any institutional support for startups, this fund is very important player in the life of the ecosystem.

In the last batch, another three teams were accepted into this accelerator, which creates a symbolic number – 11 startups in Eleven.

“Don’t come to work anymore” – email received by 60 employees of Drey, Swiss IT company

Serbian branch of Swiss IT company Drey last night fired entire staff – 60 employees. Company has so far been regarded as a very good place for work and even today on their website you can see that they identify themselves through the people who work there.

So far from their employees you could here that  it was the job they have been waiting for, unique place of work in Serbia and that is a great place to learn and develop, but today it has all been shattered. Without any notice they have received an email last night not to come to work starting from today since the company is in liqudation.

Apply today for the Best of the Fest startup competition

The closing startup competition of the 5-days long Startit Fest will be taking place on Monday the 19th of May at G12Hub, right across the street from the venue of the Startup Standup conference.

Last day to apply for Seedcamp in Belgrade at The White Palace

From Outsourcing to Startup – Awakening of Heroes to be the first Domestic Game with the Oculus Rift Mode

If we are searching for successful examples among Serbian startups, we can notice that a great number of them come from the game development industry (Nordeus, Eipix Entertainment, Mad Head Games and LevelBit). Another Serbian  entrepreneur that is planning to conquer world markets is a young startup, COFA Games, which is currently working on Awakening of Heroes (AoH) game.

A team of nine people is engaged in the development of the first Serbian MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game that, although in the prototype phase,  already has more than 12,000 active Facebook fans, which is certainly a good sign that it is on the right track. However, most of goals have yet to be achieved.

For most of us, it’s likely to be an image of a lone fisherman at sea or a vintage bait shop, yet for some, this is a vast and forever-expanding business venture, one that brings in over $45 billion a year in the United States alone.

Vukan Simic has tried his luck several times at big game fishing in different corners of the world, but he soon concluded that the current way of searching for, as well as booking a fishing charter, is unnecessarily complicated (Google “fishing charters in Tampa Bay” and notice the quality of the sites in the top 10 results).
