BY Alex Čović ON March 21

Top Eleven Football Manager, one of Serbia’s top tech products and a game that’s well on it’s way to 10 million monthly active users has a new face – the legendary José Mourinho, one of the most popular managers in the history of the sport.

The head coach of Real Madrid has signed an exclusive contract with the Belgrade-based company Nordeus, making him the face of their best known game – Top Eleven Football Manager.

Since today’s update, Mourinho’s image will be featured on the cover of the game, on it’s Facebook page, Android and iOS icons, and will be a major part of the visual identity of Top Eleven.

The Special One” will also guide new players through the game’s tutorial, assist them with the basic functionality and provide valuable tactical advice. In addition to this, the company will be introducing new ways players can interact with José Mourinho in-game in the future.

In an exclusive interview for Startit, Milan Đukić of Nordeus reveals why Mourinho was a obvious choice for this role:

“We wanted to improve the user experience for millions of our players world-wide, and we wanted someone who’s results make him synonymous with the title of football manager. There are few, if any who fit the role better than José Mourinho.”

“We got in touch with Jose, he liked the idea as well as Top Eleven, and we are very happy that he choose to become the face of our game.”

Mourinho himself had nothing but praise for Top Eleven:

“Top Eleven is the first game that managed to transfer that amazing feeling you get from managing a football club. The possibilities and options this game presents haven’t been seen on much more complex PC game titles, and the cross-platform environment and the possibility to play the game on Facebook and later pick it up from your phone, on the go further enhances the feeling of being in charge of and constantly taking care of your team.”
